In Ore was set up in 1998 by jeweller Megan Young - "I remember clearly as a child playing on the lawn with my mothers jewellery box. Fascinated with the chains I purposely put knots in them just because I wanted to untangle them".
Inspired to follow her passion Megan carried out her apprenticeship with Berry’s Jewellers, Wellington in the 1980s. On completion she traveled to Nelson (at the top of New Zealands South island) where she honed her skills over a 6 month period under the tutelage of Jens Hansen, Over this time Megan developed an appreciation for silversmithing skills and clean design.
